This study aimed to analyse the pharmacotherapeutic management of a patient diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and the applicability of faecal calprotectin for monitoring inflammatory activity. It is a qualitative clinical research of an exploratory and descriptive nature, developed in the format of a retrospective case report. The approach adopted was based on the experience of a patient, selected through convenience sampling. Data collection was structured from documentary sources and the patient's own narrative, providing a humanised dimension to the description of the condition's progression. The results demonstrated a direct correlation between the pharmacotherapeutic evolution of the crisis and the fluctuation in FC levels, especially after the induction phase, confirming the sensitivity of this biomarker in monitoring acute inflammatory activity. Thus, the study concludes the usefulness of faecal calprotectin as an auxiliary tool in ulcerative colitis
