Introduction: The use of injectable weight-loss medications has increased, driven by their effectiveness in reducing body weight and growing societal emphasis on physical appearance. Objective: To analyze the benefits and risks associated with the cosmetic use of these medications and discuss the pharmacist\'s role in promoting rational medication use. Methods: An integrative literature review was conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar, including ten scientific studies. Results: The evidence demonstrated significant weight-loss efficacy with semaglutide and tirzepatide, with comparative studies reporting greater weight reductions with tirzepatide. Continued treatment contributed to maintaining weight-loss outcomes, while gastrointestinal adverse events were the most frequently reported. Use without appropriate clinical indications and the influence of societal beauty standards represent additional concerns. Conclusion: Although effective in obesity management, these medications require multidisciplinary monitoring and sustainable lifestyle modifications. Pharmacists play an important role in therapeutic counseling, risk prevention, identification of drug interactions, and promotion of safe and rational medication use.
