Mental health has become an increasingly prominent topic in discussions about education, as it directly influences the well-being and performance of teachers and students. This article aimed to analyze how the mental health of teachers and students influences the teaching-learning process, highlighting the main challenges faced within the educational context and their repercussions for well-being and the quality of education. Methodologically, a bibliographic review was conducted using a qualitative, exploratory approach based on the analysis of studies related to mental health in the educational setting. The results showed that factors such as anxiety, stress, workload, psychological distress, burnout, relationship difficulties, and bullying can affect concentration, participation, academic performance, and the relationships among members of the school community. It was also found that supportive care, active listening, the strengthening of bonds, professional recognition, and improved working conditions can contribute to promoting mental health. The study concludes that mental health is a crucial dimension of educational quality and must be addressed through preventive, collective, and coordinated efforts, involving schools, families, professionals from various fields, and public policies, to foster the well-being and holistic development of teachers and students.
