This article aimed to analyze the effectiveness of parental responsibility in protecting children and adolescents from the patrimonial and legal risks arising from their involvement in economic and corporate activities in Brazil, identifying the main applicable legal provisions, the duties of parents or guardians, and possible gaps in the legislation. This is a bibliographic, exploratory, and descriptive study with a qualitative approach, developed from the analysis of legislation, scientific articles, doctrines, academic works, legal news, and specialized content published mainly between 2020 and 2026. The results demonstrated that the participation of minors in business corporations is legally permitted under certain conditions, but requires representation or assistance and does not allow the exercise of business administration. Risks related to the misuse of personal data, CPF (Brazilian taxpayer identification number), and assets of minors, as well as the economic exploitation of their image, were also identified. Bill No. 166/2026 highlights the need to improve asset protection mechanisms. It is concluded that parental responsibility is fundamental, but it needs to be accompanied by more effective oversight and legal mechanisms to guarantee the full protection of minors.
