This article aimed to analyze the importance of teacher training in the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the teaching and learning process, highlighting how professional development contributes to more innovative and meaningful pedagogical practices. Methodologically, it is a bibliographic research with a qualitative approach, based on authors such as Kenski (2021), Moran (2020), and Valente (2019), who discuss the role of teachers in the digital age. The analyzed productions were selected between 2018 and 2024 from databases such as SciELO, Google Scholar, and the Virtual Education Library, prioritizing Portuguese-language studies on the pedagogical use of ICTs. The results indicated that teacher training aimed at technological integration promotes active methodologies, student protagonism, and improvement of educational practices. It was also found that the lack of continuous training and adequate infrastructure limits the effectiveness of ICTs in education. It is concluded that investing in critical and continuous teacher training is essential to transform technology into a tool for innovation and humanization of the educational process.
