This study investigates the importance of the Internet of Things (IoT) in technology education, using an interactive seminar held at a high school in Juazeiro do Norte as a case study. The research aims to fill the knowledge gap about IoT among young students, empowering them and sparking their interest in emerging technologies. The methodology adopted was action research, which combined theoretical presentations and practical workshops using tools such as Arduino and Tinkercad. The results indicated that the combination of theory and practice facilitated the understanding of IoT concepts, encouraged active student participation, and increased interest in technology careers. The main limitations of the research were the need for adequate infrastructure and the limited time for the activities. The research concludes that the introduction of IoT in education can be extremely beneficial, promoting the development of technical skills and stimulating innovation. Future work may explore the expansion of the project to other schools and the inclusion of more technological tools to enrich learning.
