Abstract

Active methodologies are innovative pedagogical approaches that promote more engaging and meaningful learning, placing the student at the center of the educational process. These approaches encourage active student participation, autonomy, collaboration, and critical thinking. In this aspect, the theme stands out, given the importance of the student's effective participation in the construction of their own learning, the contextualization of the contents, the collaboration between students and the emphasis on problem solving. The article addresses the importance and impact of active methodologies in education. Aiming to investigate and find perspectives in the literature on active methodologies in teaching, as well as to analyze how the literature has developed over time. Therefore, the present study uses the SCOPUS database to analyze studies and scientific articles on active methodologies in teaching, investigating their applications, results and impacts through the VOSViwer tool, and subsequently analyzing the results. At the end, it is possible to obtain a comprehensive view of the literary development regarding active methodologies, if it presents a great growth in the number of publications, presenting different subtopics with distinguished new researchers, in addition to suggesting eight different lines of research.
