Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is an advanced and critical condition resulting from the progressive loss of renal function, leading to the accumulation of toxic compounds that affect various physiological systems in animals. The objective of this study was to report the case of an 11-year-old canine diagnosed with CKD, highlighting the clinical signs and correlating them with laboratory and subsequent histopathological findings, thereby revealing the particularities of the disease. Furthermore, this study aimed to analyze the different alterations associated with CKD, exploring its pathophysiology and systemic impacts.
