This study examines the existence of a "paradox of resocialization" within the Anísio Jobim Penitentiary Complex (COMPAJ) in Manaus/AM. It specifically investigates how failures in state reintegration policies allow the prison environment to transform into a vector for reproducing violence and a hub for criminal specialization. The primary objective is to evaluate the impact of the duality between prison violence and individual recidivism within the public security system of Amazonas. Methodologically, this research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing a literature and documentary review that includes public security doctrines, academic articles, the Penal Execution Law, and regional studies. The findings indicate that the state's absence within the prison environment is exploited and filled by criminal factions, which convert the sentencing period into a process of criminal training. Consequently, the study concludes that strategic prison management is inseparable from the effectiveness of ostensive policing. This reinforces the thesis that the prison unit functions as a recruitment center for crime, necessitating urgent reforms in the penal cycle to ensure public order and social peace in the Amazon region.
