The increased life expectancy of dogs, resulting from advances in veterinary medicine, nutrition, and specialized care, has brought new challenges to managing the physiological and pathological changes associated with aging. Notable among these changes are degenerative osteoarticular diseases, such as osteoarthritis, which compromise mobility and quality of life. The integrative therapies is a fundamental therapeutic tool, providing functional rehabilitation, pain relief, and preserving locomotor autonomy. Modalities such as hydrotherapy, kinesiotherapy, electrotherapy, laser therapy, and acupuncture have proven effective, especially when applied individually and combined with pharmacological and surgical interventions. Recent studies also highlight the importance of physiotherapy in postoperative recovery, preventing musculoskeletal complications, and supporting the treatment of metabolic and neurological diseases. Furthermore, innovations such as 3D printing for orthoses, regenerative therapies, and advanced hydrotherapy technologies are expanding treatment options. In this way, canine physiotherapy is consolidated as an indispensable approach to promote not only greater longevity, but also a better quality of life for geriatric dogs.
