Abstract

Women have been looking for their place in the job market since 1914, when the first world war began, and since then, a fight for their rights, space and position in the market has been fought. There are many companies that help women to make this fight a success, but it has not been easy. Data shown in this study reveal cowardly situations faced by them, for example, harassment and scarcity of rights at the time of motherhood. This work aims to evaluate a successful case study of a German multinational as well as to search through bibliographic research all the way taken in this fight for the rights to gender equality in the corporate world. The UN's seven principles of empowerment help to show how companies can contribute to gender equality in business.
