Abstract

Environmental education (EE) presents several teaching possibilities, aiming at the production of actions in local communities, in addition to broader connections. Which can be used in learning the Portuguese language. Thus, the objective of the work is approaches to discussions about the importance of inserting EE themes in Portuguese Language classes. The study was developed in the municipality of Breves, located in the Marajó mesoregion in the state of Pará. A total of 4 teachers from the municipal elementary school network in the municipality of Breves were interviewed. As a result, we found that teachers work on EE themes with different teaching strategies in the classroom. Therefore, we conclude that the different teaching strategies of teachers are excellent learning tools for students. As main ones we can highlight opinion articles, reporting, production, reading and interpretation of texts. Therefore, several teaching strategies must be addressed in transversal themes in Portuguese language classes, thus enabling a more integrated teaching with the different teaching areas.
