Abstract

We highlight here the importance of humanizing relations in the school environment, since humanization is a preponderant factor for the development of a society based on a culture of peace. Thus, the objective was to analyze the perception of students and educators about the importance of humanizing relationships in the school environment. For this, a field research was carried out involving educators and high school students from EREM Leobaldo Soares da Silva, located in the interior of Pernambuco. It was found that the practice of actions supported by respect, affection, cooperation, dialogue and empathy are requirements for harmonious coexistence and, consequently, for healthy relationships. In this context, the educational institution has been a favorable environment for students to develop positive behavioral attitudes, which significantly influence their lives, family and society in general. However, this does not mean to say that conflicting moments stop appearing in the classroom, even because, it is through disagreement that it is verified that other opinions need to be considered, however these divergences of opinions are necessary for everyone to question, argue and reflect on the discrepancies and, thus, arrive at a more correct outcome to establish the balance between the disagreeing parties. In this context, it is necessary to analyze in a holistic way, the effects that the educative presence of the teacher can cause in the lives of young people who are in training, not only in the cognitive dimension, but also in the formation for values. The school, as an institution that it offers systematic education, it must continue seeking to offer training to educators that emphasizes the possibility of developing skills and competences in young people that go beyond their intellectual development. It is evident that harmonizing relations in the school environment is necessary for harmony to prevail and to have a harmonious social life.
