Corruption has existed since the dawn of humanity and occurs in different ways, however, in recent decades it has become the agenda of Brazilian society due to the numerous scandals of the country's rulers, regardless of the political party they represent. Therefore, this study questions the application of integrity programs in local public administration as an instrument to improve and promote transparency, efficiency and the fight against corruption, since they stimulate cultural transformation as a whole and, thus, make it viable. and how these programs can contribute to increasing the effectiveness of the innumerable and tireless decision-making of public managers. The study aims to analyze the role of integrity programs in disguising probity in public management and how their application could impact on improving public management control and decision-making processes, thus ensuring a more efficient and effective performance. reliable. For this, the concept and role of governance in public administration is understood, with a focus on municipal public management. Next, national and international advances in compliance programs and their applicability to the public sector will be discussed.
