Abstract

The purpose of this research is to expose the main contributions of the Philosopher, in addition to characterizing his works, O Prince and Discorsi, identifying the relationship between political ethics in his thinking, understanding the power, taking and maintaining the principality, demonstrating the character timeless collection of his writings and political and philosophical thoughts that contribute to today in discussions involving ethics and politics. The research has a bibliographical character, helping to understand the problems from references published in some works, with the objective of clarifying the contribution brought by the philosopher, showing a chronological and spatial framework to understand the process of Machiavellian political action. The text brings important questions regarding the theories of Niccolò Machiavelli, dealing with the timelessness of his writings and theories, leaving open future discussions about the timelessness of Florentino's writings, bringing the possibility of continuing the research in an unprecedented and contemporary context, addressing the theories of the Italian philosopher in a current context.
