Abstract

This study has as its theme school violence under the focus of Colégio Estadual João Köpke. Thus, the general objective is: to analyze the issue in the educational environment, in the face of school violence, as an alternative for coping with the violence experienced within the school environment. And as specific objectives: to identify the manifestations of violence experienced in that school, through the perceptions of managers, teachers, students; verify the management model adopted by the school; to analyze the strategies used by managers in coping with violence in the school environment, as a device to combat school violence. To ensure the achievement of the objectives, exploratory, descriptive research was adopted as a methodology, with a qualitative approach in the case study modality. The data collection instruments used were: the semi-structured interview, the focus group technique, on-the-spot observation and documentary research. From the research subjects' reports, the transcribed speeches were submitted to a content analysis, through data triangulation. The results showed that in this environment the identification of situations of violence in the school are few, but despite the statistics, the school maintains the habit of developing preventive actions in an integrated and continuous way.
