Abstract

This study is a constitutive part of a broader work done throught the dissertation presented at Professional Masters Degree in Education of the Federal University of Tocantins, and defended at the end of the year of 2022, intitled: Democratic School Management in the municipal education system of Canaã dos Carajás, Pará (1997-2021), which had as study object the process of institutionalization of democratic school management on the Municipal Education System of Canaã dos Carajás (Pará) in the aforementioned period. For that, we formulated the following research question: which mechanisms of participation were institutionalized in the Municipal Education System of Canaã dos Carajás (Pará) in the period of 1997 to 2021, in order to implement the democratic management in the public schools of the present federate entity? In this sense, the discussion here presented has as its objective to describe the process of legal and normative construction of democratic school management of the Municipal System of Education of Canaã dos Carajás (Pará), in the period from 1997 to 2021. This is a study of qualitative approach, whose study procedure was bibliographical and documental research. For the process of analysis of the information, the research was based on the Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2011). In what concerns the study object, the results pointed out to advancements, regressions and challenges from a legal and normative point of view in the process of effectuation of democratic school management on the Municipal System of Education of Canaã dos Carajás (Pará).
