The purpose of this article is to discuss the importance of playfulness in Early Childhood Education, but specifically, on playful activities in the teaching-learning process and student training. Learning is seen as a process of adaptation, accommodation, change in behavior and cognitive structures. It is in the situation of freedom, of play that children can overcome challenges beyond their daily behavior, raising hypotheses in an attempt to understand the problems proposed to them by people and the reality with which they interact. Thus, the objective is to emphasize the work with the ludic in order to verify the child in his cognitive development. This is a descriptive bibliographical study based on Moyles (2006), Vygotsky (1991) and other scholars who deal with the subject, that is, on how this process happens and what influence play can have on it. As a result of the research, it was noticed that playful activities are fundamental for the development and learning of the child. This means that educational institutions must use these instruments in their pedagogical practice.
