Depending on the relevance of the economy in Brazil, tomatoes are grown in many parts of the country due to their high prices in supermarkets in general. For such cultivation it is necessary a large water volume. The use of information technology has had a satisfactory increase in the agricultural sector, currently numerous studies are carried out with the objective and focus on facilitating the management and increasing the productivity of crops, the installation of this technology in the field is “precision agriculture”. This work aims to understand the automated irrigation system through the Arduino platform, in view of their concept with the development of a prototype of this automated irrigation system. Currently, in Brazil there are several forms of technologies available aimed at the agricultural environment, but these are high-cost technologies requiring a high investment, not allowing small and medium-sized farmers to have free access to these new forms. of work. Irrigation has become one of the technologies most operated by farmers, since whether it rains or not, it ensures producers a uniform harvest, reducing the risk of losses due to lack of water. According to the use of these analyzed and studied technologies, a prototype of an irrigation system was carried out using the Arduino platform, where the sensors acquire soil information sent to the Arduino, which in turn manipulates a hydraulic pump responsible for irrigating the monitored soil. by the sensor. After the tests carried out with the prototype, it was clearly noticed the control of the Arduino processing and the precision in the data collection carried out by the sensor.
