Abstract

The objective of this review was to seek the association of food and quality of life of women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (SOP) and to identify studies with a higher level of scientific evidence that approach nutrition as an aid in the treatment of the disease. For this, a search was carried out in the PubMed database and selected studies from 2018 to 2022, in Portuguese and available for free, from this search 6 studies were included in the review table because they are current articles and with a higher level of scientific evidence. In conclusion, nutritional strategies that prioritize adequate intake of low glycemic load carbohydrates aligned with good quality proteins and lipids can alleviate symptoms and clinical manifestations of PCOS. However, further studies are suggested to demonstrate the effects of these diets in the long term and whether it is possible to maintain them for longer periods of time.
