The internship at a support home for psychiatric patients can provide the student with a rich experience during the observation of these inmates. How they interact with each other and with the institution's employees. In the present study, we try to demonstrate the tools available to the psychology professional in a given halfway house and how patients react to this interaction. People with different life histories, but with very similar problems, especially with regard to distance from family. The Psychology professional is challenged to act within this complex scenario and has the capacity to contribute strongly to the improvement in the quality of life of these individuals.
