Abstract

The traditional didactics, centered on the preoccupation with teaching, still predominates in the pedagogical practices of higher education, despite the remarkable advance of modern didactics, centered on the preoccupation with learning. The role of the teacher is then to challenge, stimulate, help students in building a relationship with the object of learning, gestoud, meet the need for them, helping them to become aware of social needs, university training. This article is a postgraduate program in Tropical Medicine. The research was structured in two phases, with the use of data collection instruments from each of the four classes of students enrolled in the discipline Teaching Methodology of Higher Education. The role of the discipline in the social insertion is verified by constant contact with the teacher, even after completion of the discipline, the application of the actions experienced in the discipline in secondary, technical and higher education institutions by graduates, indicating the role of human resources training for a basic and higher education.
