The present work sought to demonstrate the importance of family and school integration with a view to improving the teaching-learning process. For that, the roles of family and school in the formation of the individual were described, demonstrating the importance of these institutions in the development of the individual and how an articulated work between them provides the improvement in the student's learning and in the formation of the individual as a citizen. Ways to encourage parents' participation in the student's school life were also identified. For the elaboration of the research, a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory methodology was used, through the survey of books, legislation documents and articles.
