Domestic violence against women is one of the evils that is most evident in contemporary times, with constant highlights in the press and in discussions of political powers constituted in the field of public security, human rights, and the guarantee of protection. This article seeks to reflect on this aspect from the role of representation of the Military Police, usually the first contact for help requested by the victims, in the search for justice and legal compliance. In this sense, the text permeates about the training of the police regarding the required protective instrument, aiming at an increasingly affirmative institutional performance, which presents the results expected by the victims. With the contribution of bibliographical references and qualitative methodology of referential analysis, this article aims to bring hypotheses for the analysis of the applicability of the Law and its challenges.
