Abstract

This article deals with the professional work of Social Service in relation to the Institutionalized elderly person, as an instrumentalized agent for the conquest of citizenship in the guarantee of rights, being a professional who has as specificity the performance in the access of individuals to their social rights through policies regarding a dignified, independent and autonomous old age. Explains the development of projects and programs through actions and campaigns to achieve well-being and protect the rights of the elderly listed in the Federal Constitution of 1988 and other segments that make up this protection network for the Institutionalized elderly and the articulation with the family bond . It is understood that Social Work has a lot to contribute to guaranteeing the rights of the elderly population and it identifies the need to improve the quality of services aimed at this public, with effective actions, and especially the participation of the family, due to their vulnerabilities.
