Abstract

The government of then-president Jair Messias Bolsonaro, as soon as he took power, sought to bring reforms to the Brazilian state. Among the many, this article seeks to bring an analysis on the administrative, as it is a topic little discussed and of great relevance. Considering the great demand for public services in Brazil, added to the current government's quest to increase the efficiency of the public service, as well as, at the same time, reduce spending on it, this article aims to verify whether the proposed administrative reform presented by PEC nº 32/2020 meets or does not meet what the executive branch proposes. Given this, the work brought a bit of the history of reforms that the country has gone through and showed that there is still much to be done. It also demonstrates how the new legislation was presented and the implications inherent to it. It brings the positive and negative sides and, in the end, it brings a conclusion of how the situation of the proposal is and what still needs to happen. The present work is justified by the large number of public servants working in Brazil and who directly impact the lives of millions of people. Faced with the great change that the reform intends to cause, it is convenient to reflect on what impacts it will cause in the lives of those who will be affected.
