This scientific article aims to analyze the crime of non-compliance with urgent protective measures provided for in article 24-A, of Law No. 11,340, of August 7, 2006, in the municipality of Porto Velho - Rondônia. At first, we sought to analyze the historical struggle of women for their rights, from the Roman period to the Maria da Penha Law, which brought mechanisms to curb domestic and family violence against women, overcoming the historical debate, we sought to understand the forms of domestic violence present in that law, the role of the police authority in the Maria da Penha law, it was also sought to make a brief analysis of the applicability of urgent protective measures, as well as on the jurisprudence of the STF (Federal Supreme Court) and STJ (Superior Court of Justice) on the subject.
