The introduction of a pneumatic manipulator to improve the operating conditions of a tempered glass kitchenware industry is studied. The objective of this research is to describe the implementation of a pneumatic manipulator, an equipment powered by compressed air in a system with low pressure air points in a tempered glass kitchenware industry, to reduce the tool change time and maximize machine productivity. This is an experience report by researchers in an industry of domestic kitchen utensils made with tempered glass. The results showed that there was a decrease in the average time of the activities of changing the shapes, in the first 30 measurements made of the time of changing the equipment, an average of 50 minutes was obtained, with time variations from 35 to 70 minutes, already in the second period. of data collection after installing the pneumatic manipulator, an average of 15 minutes per change was obtained, with a smaller variation of times between 10 to 20 minutes for each equipment change, the sum of the sampling before the equipment is 1510 minutes, after installation is 447 minutes, corresponding to a reduction of 70.4%. It was concluded that the application of this project in the glassware production sector, generates cost reduction, reduces waste, and decreases the indicator of machine downtime, in addition to providing better working conditions for operators, thus preventing them from being away due to bodily injury, enabling them to carry out an activity with more agility and safety, without exposure to the risk of an accident.
