Bulimia Nervosa has been considered a specific Eating Disorder since 1980, with the publication of the DSM-III, and it can have a significantly impact on the patient's life, both for acceptance of the diagnosis and the progress of the treatment. The Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy has contributed significantly to the improvements of Bulimia Nervosa, as it helps with symptoms and prevents relapse by changing back the dysfunctional beliefs of its patients, and is considered one of the most efficient Psychotherapies in the treatment of eating disorders. The objective of this article is to highlight the relevance of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in the treatment of Bulimia Nervosa. Articles indexed in the Scielo, Pepsic and psychology book databases were used, with the reference period between the years 2000 to 2020.
