Abstract

Due the appearance of new and unknown problems, the hospital is one of the fastest growing institutions in recent years. To deal with it, health professionals need to use innovative management practices and be constantly updated in order to provide better treatment and aiming to keep these institutions sustainable and competitive. In this way, the health job market has shown to be increasingly dynamic and, to follow it in this transformation process and comply with the consequent demand for new skills, professionals need to put into practice the concepts of Permanent Education in Health. In this context, this work presents Distance Education as a teaching modality that enables access to continuing education, one of the characteristics of EPS, proving its effectiveness through several examples and comparative studies with other modalities, showing that is no significant losses in terms of learning and concluding that when this tool is properly used, can offer quality education for the worker, overcoming the physical space barrier and contributing to the socialization of knowledge.
