This article begins by answering the following question: What is the importance of functional activities in early childhood education? Developed from practical experiences in early childhood education, the aim is to emphasize the combination of theory and practice. Based on the bibliographic research approach, our article focuses on explaining child development from Vygotsky's cultural-historical perspective, establishing important developmental goals and introducing the teacher's role in this theoretical flow, and finally answering the question presented.
