Gender issues, heteronormativities and structural machismo are still rooted in behaviors and attitudes that cause suffering or require great resilience from women. It is necessary to consider the inclusion of women in Technical and Vocational Education, discussing the challenges, resistances and tactics for achieving a professional career. Taking in account a virtual interview with a graduate of the Federal Technical School of Santa Catarina, in the 1980s, we present her school trajectory, and we intend to answer this question: how the accomplishment of the Mechanical Technician training for a woman means a break from the expected fate? Her trajectory is relevant to discuss the values of femininity during her childhood and youth, which to a certain extent are questioned when choosing the Mechanical Technician training course.
