Aspiring to substantiate this theme, the importance of reading in mathematics was shown through Zwiernik and Hollas, emphasizing mathematical investigation through the literature highlighting Roedel. The theme presented supports the importance and necessity of the act of reading and its collaboration in interpretation, analysis and reasoning, the possibility of inserting interdisciplinarity and contextualization, above all enriching and dynamizing the mathematics classes through the book by Jules Verne. “20.000 Léguas Submarinas” is a classic of adventure and science fiction, very rich in its plot, contemplating several curricular components.
