Abstract

This article deals with the teaching of philosophy during the period of the civil-military regime, according to Law nº 5.692/71, which removed the discipline of Philosophy from the curriculum of Secondary Education, being replaced by the disciplines of EMC - Moral Education and Cívica and OSPB – Brazilian Social and Political Organization, as mandatory, revoking Law nº 4.024/61, where this subject was included in the curriculum as a complement. It aims to discuss the interference in the educational process of teaching philosophy, led by the ruling class in line with the civil-military regime that lasted between the years 1964-1985. During this period, the country was experiencing strong economic growth, given the expansion of the industry with the increase in the workforce, due to North American investments, and, with that, teaching-learning was developed from the perspective of a technicist education that valued the moral and patriotic aspects in order to strengthen the systematization of the military ideology. In these terms, we reflect on the teaching of philosophy in the civil-military regime: the ideological politics present in the teaching-learning process in the educational curriculum. The methodological path used was through bibliographic research. It is expected with this study a rethinking about the importance of teaching philosophy, in the perspective of a critical and human formation.
