GAME AS A STRATEGIC WAY OF LEARNING TO READ AND WRITE CHILDREN BETWEEN 4 AND 5 IN PORTUGAL AND BRAZIL - A COMPARATIVE STUDY

This article reflects on the importance of play in literacy and reading of children in preschool age in educational institutions in Portugal and Brazil. The results showed that opinions on learning and game are related to some variables such as age, employment status, academic qualifications and nationality of teachers. It also allowed to find a linear regression model between the influence of the game in the child's learning, correlating space and appreciation of reading with the dynamics of the game. It is extremely important to analyze how influences the reading and writing learning, coating is critical in the pre-school education as a pedagogical practice. It was also found by recording observations of the students in the classroom, that children liked to do activities based on games and this fact had repercussions on their learning and more specifically on reading and writing.
