THE INSERTION OF SOCIAL SERVICE IN BASIC EDUCATION: EXPERIENCE OF A PRIVATE AND PHILANTHROPIC EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION IN SANTARÉM- PARÁ

This article sought to analyze the social worker inserted in a private and philanthropic educational institution in the municipality of Santarém- Pará, their benefits and professional challenges. In order to understand this process, a bibliographic review of the relationships that permeate it and the individuals involved will be conducted, such as the family institution, which together with the students form the school community, as well as a brief history about the evolution of the educational area. The research methodology approached qualitative and quantitative aspects, with a hypothetical-deductive approach. The data cited in the work were obtained through an interview with the Social Service professional at Santa Clara College, enabling the identification of her profile, her main contributions and difficulties, as well as the characterization of the public assisted, the greatest demands and the quantity of those benefited by the student assistance program. This experience highlights the importance and necessity of the social worker's presence in the school, as one of the tools that directly imply in the student's development.
