This article provides an overview of Henri Wallon's psychogenetic research, initially placing his life trajectory in a historical and social context to understand its impact on his research. It reflects his theory that emphasizes emotion as a central axis of child development and its relationship with cognitive, motor and interaction development. Considering the importance of Wallon's dialectical and humanistic vision of the whole person for educational practice, we seek to emphasize emotion. Therefore, it seeks to provide teacher training, especially in early childhood education, with an emphasis on emotion, and when seeking training, educators must know how child development takes place in such situations so that it is possible to contribute as mediators and facilitators, who analyze the importance of emotions in children's learning, their global development and the relationships between teacher and student.
