The aim of this study is to know and understand the proposals of a faculty about the curricular incorporation of the health management training axis in undergraduate medicine, in addition to analyzing the national and international scientific production on the subject. Quantitative-qualitative research developed in an electronic library, in databases in the health area and with 38 professors enrolled in an undergraduate course in medicine of a public nature. The answers to the guiding question of the study were analyzed using the methodological framework of content analysis, in the thematic modality. The results indicate an incipient scientific production and some generic proposals for the incorporation of the training axis in the curriculum in question. These findings are able to reveal the latent gap between what is recommended by the national curriculum guidelines for the undergraduate medical course in Brazil and the demands of contemporary medical education in the face of Brazilian medical curricula.
