THE ROLE OF (A) PEDAGOGUE (A) HOSPITAL: A HUMANIZING TEACHING AT OSWALDO CROSS REEF HOSPITAL – PERNAMBUCO

This article makes an explanation of the role of (a) pedagogue (a) hospital, through a theoretical and empirical analysis experienced at Hospital Oswaldo Cruz in Recife – PE, for being the only one in the region that includes this mode of teaching. Hospital Pedagogy is an area of activity that aims to provide educational care to children and adolescents who, for reasons of diseases are bedridden and need care in the hospital or individual class (in beds)in order not to miss the school year. This article raises the following research problem: “What is the role and pedagogical performance developed by (a) pedagogue (a) within the hospital space?” Presents as General Objective: To analyze the pedagogical practices adopted by the Hospitalar pedagogue in order to understand its methodology, evaluation and teaching of both the hospital beds and the classroom of the Oswaldo Cruz University Hospital in Recife – PE in order to understand the difficulties and achievements of this professional in its performance. The methodology used to carry out this work was the qualitative bibliographic and field which was used of the non-participating observation technique and an interview with the pedagogue of the hospital, followed by an analysis of the qualitative data that evidenced the importance of this pedagogical practice and how it needs to be expanded to other public and private hospitals in order to look with pedagogical love at the act of caring for children and adolescents in hospital state.
