The present work sought, through an analysis of sociological aspects, to demonstrate the importance of legal provisions such as the new law nº 14.188/2021, which also aim to safeguard the psychological integrity of women in Brazil. In line with Law 11.340 of August 7, 2006, Law Maria da Penha, Law 14.188/21 highlighted the aspect beyond the physical violence suffered by women, addressing in its article 147-B, psychological aspects of aggressions that can be committed. Using bibliographical and documentary research, a small historical digression was carried out aiming to contextualize the struggle of women for more dignified conditions over the years. The identification of laws and norms in the Brazilian legal system, in harmony with constitutional and republican principles, was part of the scientific path towards achieving the intended objectives. In the end, it was concluded that, given the global scenario of valuing life and human dignity, laws such as 14.188/21, discussed here, have a fundamental role in bringing about a fairer world. where respect and equity are real imperatives for the organization of the social fabric, eliminating racial, religious, gender distinctions or any other element that acts in the division of individuals against what is their right.
