The present research sought to evaluate the psychomotor aspects in residents of a therapeutic residence. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative-qualitative approach carried out in February and March 2022 with residents of the SRT in the municipality of Cajazeiras- Paraíba. A sociodemographic questionnaire, a semi-structured emotional state questionnaire, Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) were applied, in addition to the application of tests to assess muscle strength and balance. Residents of the aforementioned SRT are mostly women, with a mean age of 55 years, all of them have some comorbidity, with Diabetes Mellitus being the most prevalent. In addition, all of them have a BMI ≥ 30 kg/m², despite the fact that the entire group practices some physical activity. The MMSE revealed that most patients had a result within the expected average and about 60% of the group had muscle strength equal to or greater than 4 degrees. As for balance, the results ranged between “good balance” and “acceptable balance”. The research was effective to assess the psychomotricity of the residents of that service, but it is not reliable to expand and predict these results for the other groups, since the main limitation of the study was the small sample size.
