SEX EDUCATION AS A SAFETY STRATEGY FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT

Given the numerous reported cases of sexual violence against children and teenagers, this work was carried out in order to highlight the importance of sex education in childhood, addressing this subject in both the school and family environment. Even brought in this research some studies supported by the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud about child sexuality and other studies of how the spread of false information hinder pedagogical work with the theme. The research was carried out with the bibliographic method and qualitative approach, bringing a positive outcome in relation to the results achieved. Consequently confirming that spreading false information makes it difficult to teach sex education at school, as well as the evidence that the school also has a responsibility to teach this topic to children and also the importance of family and school environments maintaining the balance of opinions and burdens to address the topic. It was also noted the need for new government strategies in order to expand the freedom to deal with the subject in the classroom.
