THE IMPORTANCE OF ETHICS AND MORALS IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION FOR QUALITY EDUCATION AND A FAIRER SOCIETY

This scientific article deals with the importance given to the concepts of Ethics and Morals in an educational institution in a peripheral neighborhood in the city of Parnamirim-RN, for which a questionnaire with 5 closed questions was applied to 10 teachers who work in the 6th grade classes. elementary school, of the 45 total that exist in the school, in the questionnaire there was no identification requirement so that the teachers could be sincere when answering the multiple choice ones, as well as presenting a small justification after their answers to enrich the research work, all Results were tabulated and the data transformed into graphs to help understand the answers obtained, supported by the following objectives, to verify the frequency with which the concepts are approached in the classroom, to analyze the practical application of these concepts in the classroom, to understand why whether or not the concept is addressed by teachers in the classroom. Faced with these objectives, we seek to evaluate the importance given to these concepts by teachers and how much students are able to understand these concepts and apply them in their daily lives. However, our results were satisfactory and surprising, where we were able to verify a deficiency in the teaching of morals and ethics in elementary school classrooms and the lack of practical application of these concepts on a daily basis.
