Abstract

This review refers to the chapter Desurbanismo: a quick manual for the destruction of cities by Prof. Dr. Lucas Figueiredo and published in the book Urbanidades. It deals with some disurban trends observed in Brazilian cities and their possible long-term consequences. The desurbanism cited by the author is nothing more than the inverse of urbanism and can be considered as a strategy for the destruction of cities. The unurban trends presented end up making ways of life unfeasible, and should be avoided or resolved for the proper urban planning of cities and consequently social development.
