This article has reflections and notes on the importance of playfulness in early childhood education. Through a bibliographic review, a study was carried out approaching some theorists who researched and analyzed how the child's development and the construction of their knowledge occur. According to the child's development, it goes through some phases, as it develops in the interaction with the environment and with the other, it improves and expands its knowledge. According to these findings, the child is a playful being, that is, since birth he discovers the world through interaction with the object of knowledge, whether his body or different objects, with handling and observation, interacts and discovers new learning in his day. Games, toys, creativity and imagination are fundamental partners in the construction of children's knowledge, as they are determining factors for significant and gradual learning to occur.
