LITERATURE REVIEW: ATRAUMATIC RESTORATIVE TREATMENT AND ITS APPLICATIONS

Abstract

Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART), also known by its acronym in English (ART AtraumaticRestorative-Treatment) is a technique that restores teeth affected by dental caries using only manual instruments in the application of Restorative Treatment. The present study aims to discuss the application of Atraumatic Restorative Treatment and its main uses and dental consequences. Thus, it was sought through literature reviews, in a qualitative way, to approach thoughts that corroborate with the main indications to perform ART. clinical use of ART, references published between the years 1908 and 2021 were used. At the conclusion of the article it is expected that the reader understands the indicated cases of the use of atraumatic restorative treatment as well as the importance of follow-up and a healthy oral education for avoid any further injury.
