Introduction: Chronic kidney disease stands out for the progressive loss of kidney function, with high mortality and accelerated global growth. Objective: To analyze mortality and the incidence of hospitalization for chronic kidney disease between Brazil and the states of Amazonas and Espírito Santo from 2008 to 2017. Method: Ecological study with time series outcomes using microdata of a secondary nature regarding deaths and hospital admissions due to chronic kidney disease of residents accredited to the Unified Health System. Results: The variables of mortality from CKD, in both sexes referring to the state of Amazonas - AM showed a statistically significant difference when compared to Espírito Santo - ES and Brazil - BR, with (p<0.001) and (p=0.3569) , respectively. When analyzing the overall total of deaths, the statistical differences between AM x ES and AM x BR (p<0.001) remained significant. When analyzing the overall total of hospitalizations, there was a significantly lower difference for the state of Amazonas (p<0.001), with 20.93 compared to Espírito Santo, which had an average of 41.12. Conclusion: The incidence of deaths and hospitalizations during the analyzed period increased every year, in all investigated places, with a lower value in the State of Amazonas in relation to the others. Emphasizing that the male sex prevailed, as well as the high age.
