Self-medication is the act of taking a medication without the supervision of a qualified professional. In other words, the use of medicines without a prescription. This article aims to point out the dangers of self-medication. The main risks were analyzed in order to alert individuals about this practice. Self-medication has consequences. Consumption without knowledge leads to intoxication, addiction and even death. Every drug has side effects, and its long-term use can be harmful to health.
