Abstract

The objective of this work was to show the benefits generated by practical and incentive actions aimed at protecting groundwater for the municipality of Maricá, in order to avoid the biological contamination of these waters by contact with the effluents of sanitary sewers, without due treatment, benefits that, in addition to guaranteeing the potability of water and protecting the health of the population in the prevention of diseases, also contribute to assigning the municipality the status of Resilient City, as this action is also considered a disaster risk reduction tool.
