This article is an excerpt from a pilot research, in progress, which aims to identify and discuss the (im) challenges posed by the context of social isolation caused by the pandemic of the new coronavirus for early mathematics teachers and teachers who work in three cities in the northern region of the state of Bahia. It is a qualitative research that used a structured questionnaire with 33 questions as an instrument of data production. Five early career teachers who work in different cities in the northern region of the state of Bahia participated in this study. For data analysis, the Content Analysis method was chosen. The research reveals the need to support beginning teachers in this context of a pandemic, in which, although remote education emerges as an alternative for this period of isolation, it is important to understand that, unfortunately, not everyone has the material conditions to make it a reality.
